What to invest in now

Now is the time to invest in classic pieces that will transition you into Spring. This time of year is hard to get dressed; but if you can find a few things that will get you through the next few months, you won’t feel like you are stuck in that winter rut.

Outerwear: A classic trench was on my “to purchase” list last year, and I finally found a great one. It is by Mango and it is under $125. I think a trench instantly elevates any outfit. In Kansas City, we can get good use out of a jacket in this weight. Perfect for our mild spring and balmy fall months.

I also love a good striped tee. You can layer it under anything, and it’s always classic and chic. This season denim is a lot cleaner, with less distressing. I am LOVING this high rise from 7 FAM in a lighter blue wash with a step hem. And, right now they are 15% during Evereve’s denim sale.

Accessories: Classic sunglasses in black or tortoise look great all year long. I live in the Stax and the Dalziel from Barton Perreira. Both were the best investments. I love a classic frame that never goes out of style.

Shoes: I am obsessed with these Chanel pumps which I literally wear with everything. If you want the real thing, score them for less on ebay. Or get the look alike HERE. And if you are on a budget HERE.

Bags: I am loving the smaller bags in unique shapes for Spring. Quite often referred to as the “mini bag”; most of them are just large enough to hold your phone and a few essentials. They also have cross body straps which make them very user friendly, great for travel, etc. I got this Derek Lam end of last season. But I have seen some cool new shapes for the upcoming season. shop similar bags HERE, HERE, HERE  if you are on a budget shop HERE.

The sweaters for spring are AMAZING. We are seeing a lot of brighter colors, bold stripes, textures and lots of sleeve details. Spring sweaters are great because they will keep you warm through the next few weeks, and you can set aside the sweaters you have been wearing for the last few months! This green pointelle knit is a great bargain, and it is also one of my favorite colors for 2018.

I have said it once, and I will say it again. Tennis Shoes will be styled with EVERYTHING in 2018. Sundresses, skirts, you name it. So, invest in a pair you love! My husband got me these Golden Goose sneakers for Christmas and I am loving them (they are currently on sale at Standard Style if you live in KC) or if you want an inexpensive style, shop it HERE.

The Slide: Lastly, the slide is the must have shoe. You can find this style in all different price points. I splurged on the Gucci’s (after wearing a knock off pair for a year) I wear them so much, they have been worth every penny. If you want them on a budget, you can find them HERE, HERE, HERE.
