Weekly Recipe Favorites

Ok, I know, Bacon is not all that healthy for you. It is high in saturated fat, so it is not something you want to eat every day. But if eaten in small amounts every so often, I think you are ok! Unfortunately two of these recipes do include bacon (I apologize in advance). But, we all know that Bacon makes everything a little better 🙂 If you wanted to, you could add Turkey Bacon instead.

This Skinnytaste Spaghetti Squash with Bacon and Parmesan was a hit with my husband. My kids weren’t keen on it, but I will try to make it again. It is filling, hearty, and only 109 calories per serving. It was super easy with minimal ingredient, which is always a plus for me. I am really into Spaghetti Squash after making this recipe. I didn’t realize how easy/good it is. It definitely needs a lot of things to jazz it up for flavor, but I love that it is much healthier for you than pasta or GF pasta.

I finally got the Skinnytaste Fast and Slow cookbook, and it is awesome! We made our first recipe tonight, A Brussell Sprouts and Bacon Hash with an egg on top. I have to say, it is one of the best things I have made in a long time. Probably because it combines 3 of my favorite ingredients!

If you are looking for a good weekend recipe, this Slow Cooker Beer French Dip was so good! It’s definitely a splurge meal! It was incredibly easy and only required a few ingredients. I found that my slow cooker sometimes cooks faster than what they require on the recipe, so make sure to check in on our meat after about 5 hours. I think mine ended up a little over cooked.
