I have been lucky to know and work with Emily Walters for probably the last 8 years. She is one of those amazing, creative souls who is good at everything she puts her mind to. She started her jewelry design business, Emmy Ray Design in 2006. Since then, she has also been a floral designer, art teacher, studio assistant for a local artist, and interior designer!
Since starting her own family in 2014, she has switched gears with Hazel & Ollie, which is darling children’s handmade jewelry you can find at local stores like The Little House and KidOh at Halls, or on Etsy.
She is also helping other women channel their creativity through The Bloom Academy. Emily hosts workshops with small groups to help them learn how to create their own floral masterpiece!
I did my first Bloom Academy workshop with a group of good friends, small business owners and other bloggers in KC to celebrate mother’s day! My mom was in town, so she got to join in the fun too. It was a really amazing day, doing something out of my comfort zone.
We started with a short tutorial from Emily, and then went on to create our arrangements with some gentle guidance and re-assurance from the expert.
Love the stems we were able to choose from! You can’t go wrong here…
Then we got to work on our arrangements. I loved seeing how even though we all used the same flowers, the end result was so unique!
We left with our own beautiful arrangement, all made by hand by US!
A HUGE THANKS to Emily for sharing her talents with us for the day! We had a blast!
Also, a huge thank you to the Mixx for the gorgeous salad spread! We did not leave hungry!
