Our Weekend

I was so excited to have my friend Emily and Jenny in town from Chicago! They wanted to come in to try a class at the new Health House; and see me of course 🙂 Luckily the weather was decent, and we were able to have some great quality time just hanging, eating, drinking, shopping, etc

Vivi wanted to be a part of everything we did, which was hilarious. I was Vivi’s age when I met Jenny (we went to Kindergarten together!) and we reconnected a year ago, when I came to find she was good friends with Emily in the suburbs of Chicago. It really is a SMALL, SMALL world!

Friday night we ate at Antler Room which was SO good. I can’t say enough wonderful things about that restaurant. The Hamachi crudo, the tequila cocktail, any of the pasta dishes and the scallops and carrots are not to be missed!

Saturday we got up and took a class at Health House, followed by lunch at Westside Local (their burger is phenomenal!) and then on to some shopping on the plaza. I booked us makeovers at Blue Mercury, which was really fun to do before a night out. Bailey, the manager and artist at BM is one of the best in the city! She did a great job listening to what I wanted/needed.

She used a new Nars Palette which is filled with really pretty, warm neutrals. She added the kind of reddish tones in the crease which always makes blue eyes pop! I also got Bobbi Brown’s retro Coral lipstick and the Lune + Aster one step brow which is really awesome. It is like a pencil/gel/brush all in one! I got the light brown color.

My outfit for the night! Because it was still not that warm. Simple black sweater, leather skirt (this is similar and a great price!), black booties and chloe bag.

We hit up the new Fontaine Hotel bar for a cocktail. The restaurant and bar got a makeover and it looks SO much better!!! The “boots with the fur” is a ridiculously good drink if you like Grapefruit!

Then on to Monarch for a few appetizers and drinks. The Viceroy is one of the best drinks I have had there, the Carriage Club is a second fave.

Our last stop was Novel for dinner. Their new space is really beautiful and as always the food is some of the best in KC. I think the highlight was their desserts, which are all hand made in house and insanely good!!!

Thank you to Jenny and Emily for taking time away from their families to visit me in KC! It was a fabulous weekend!!
