Our Weekend

After last week, I feel like I was losing my mind! Coming back from a long weekend getaway, and then dealing with school being cancelled, no sunshine for a week, not being able to get any work done and not able to play catch up was brutal. This was how I felt on Thursday! Everyone in our house was going a little crazy.

The weekend couldn’t come soon enough! I hit up Dear Society Friday when the kids were in school. I need just a few things for our California trip next week.

They do such an incredible job with their mix of new and vintage!

I left with this set (which needs to be hemmed). I love that I can mix and match both pieces with different things. I also got a high waisted pair of white pants with wide cropped legs. They were something I had been searching for forever!

Friday night we went to the Antler room with a few other couples. The food is just so amazing, and their cocktails are out of this world! I love the Tequila drink which has grapefruit, fresh lime and campari. So refreshing, and probably a little too easy to drink 🙂 They do small plates that are meant to share; and I don’t think there was one we didn’t like.

Saturday after a workout, we took the kids to Charleston’s (again!) This is our new “regular” spot. I think it is the only place that all 4 agree on. the kids now love sitting at the bar and ordering their own food. They feel very grown up, I think 🙂 This also allows Jon and I to have some conversation without being interrupted!

My parents took my brother and I to this little restaurant when we lived in Joliet Illinois and apparently we did the same thing. This pic so reminds me of my brother and I when we were little!

Saturday night we stayed in and cooked, and it was delightful! Especially since the weather was so gross, I had no desire to go out.

Sunday we took the kids to The Nelson Art museum which is one of our favorite things to do as a family. The picasso exhibit is only here a few more weeks, so we wanted to see it. I wasn’t overly impressed (to be honest) but it was interesting. There were some sculptures that gave the kids endless giggles. If you have been, you know 🙂

Hellen Frankethnaller is one of my mom’s favorite artists! We were excited to see they had a piece at the Nelson. This piece is really beautiful! It’s even better in person.

I enjoy the Bloch galleries the most; the collection of impressionist pieces is astounding.

We stayed and had lunch too, which was great. I was skeptical because it is served like Caffeteria style, but the food was really good!

Hope you all had a great weekend!
