It is hard to believe that not that many years ago the internet was a new phenomenon. I have lived half of my life without it! I will never forget using the internet for the first time my freshman year in college. Having to “dial up”, waiting a good 5-15 minutes, and that awful sound the computer would make. And once you did log on the connection was SO slow. Those were the good old days, right?!
And here we are now. It is amazing how far we have come in such a short amount of time! Do you remember what life was like without the internet?
I started blogging when I quit working in the fashion industry almost 10 years ago. What began as a “guilty pleasure” of sorts, and a way to share with my friends everything I was currently obsessing about has turned into such an incredible platform. I am the ultimate shopper/bargain hunter, beauty junkie, and fitness lover; and I really do love writing about what I am excited about at the moment. It has also been fun documenting our family, life here in Kansas City, and all of our travels over the past 9 years. Someday my kids will be able to look back and read about all of the fun things we did. And hopefully be proud of their Mom; and her sense of style 🙂
Writing this blog has provided me with some unique opportunities over the years that I never would have had before. It has also been the catalyst for relationships and friendships with not just other bloggers but with my readers as well.
I am so thankful for this crazy thing we call the internet and all of the wonderful things that we can do with it. It has opened doors for me, and I am forever grateful.
I was so excited that Google Fiber contacted me to help share their #MakeTheInternet Kansas City campaign. I was also extremely flattered that they find me as someone who is making the internet more “stylish”. Coming from a provider who I uphold as the best (if you use them, you know it is true). They are bringing a faster, kinder and fairer internet to Kansas City; which is something I truly appreciate! Here are some of my favorite people that #MakeTheInternet stylish: Amy at Steps of Style, Jacey at Damsel in Dior and the girls at Somewhere Lately who are always inspiring me!
So, as we head into the craziness of the holidays, I want to say thanks to you all who stop by here when you can. I write because I love to, but I write to hopefully inspire you as well! And thanks to the internet 🙂 I will have some really fun gift guides for you all week long!
