2017 GOALS

New Year; fresh start…new goals. I shared a little bit on Instagram, but last year was one of extreme highs and lows.

I went through some crazy health issues in 2016. Nothing catastrophic, or terribly serious but enough to make me feel kind of crappy all year long. I was feeling depressed, I dealt with chronic neck pain, dizziness and bad headaches. In October, I had a bout of ileocecal colitis, which was extremely painful, and it has forced me to have to completely change my diet.


When we moved out of our apartment in November, the neck pain, dizziness and headaches went away. Around this same time, I had completely changed my diet based on what happened with my ileocecal valve. My friend does a lot of research on homeopathic medicine and natural ways of healing your body. When she sent me this article, I was blown away. I was experiencing so many of these symptoms. It was the answer to so many of my questions! It makes me realize just how important gut health is; and how it is tied to everything….from your inside to your emotional state and your entire well being.

My goal for 2017 is just to continue to listen to my body. I have started taking Oreganol P73, which is an anti oxidant which will prevent illness, it also works as an anti-inflammatory, and it is anti microbial. I have been pairing this back to Activated Charcoal which can help flush out toxins from the body. If you want more info on this, you can read HERE. I continue to also do Turmeric pills which is another great all natural option in maintaining gut health.

My diet is pretty clean 80% of the time, and I will continue to work on maintaining that balance. If you are good during the week, there is no reason why you can’t have splurge days on the weekend! That is the formula that works best for me

Fitness is a huge part of my personal well being. For me it is imperative to maintain mental and physical health. My goal is to stay consistent doing 4 days a week minimum. Now that V. is in school 4 days a week I have no excuses!


I am going to work on lifting heavier weights. I do feel like this is the biggest way to see change in body. So many woman are told that heavier weights will bulk them up but that is a terrible myth…and many women are brainwashed to think that they should only lift 3-4 pound weights. If you are doing a lot of cardio, but not lifting weights, and aren’t seeing a change in your body that is why! I feel like I am on a great path to understanding what works and what doesn’t work for my body. It’s crazy that at 39 years of age, I am feeling better than I did 10 years ago. But I think we know so much more than we used to! There are healthier eating options, and more convenient, fun, and safe workouts that can actually change your body.
